What’s Playing at The Civic (Mar 18 – 24)

The Civic goes beyond the Wall this week.

Dystopian girl power returns to The Civic screen with the first film installment of the final book of The Divergent Series. Allegiant (Rated PG) opens on the break, Mar. 18th and plays for the entire week.

Strong non-conforming female characters, the staple of the young adult dystopian fiction genre, provide powerful role models for a generation of girls to take power and lead change. Like The Hunger Games’ Katnis before her, Tris (Shailene Woodley) leads the charge to find social justice in a corrupt system. Tris must escape with Four and go beyond the wall enclosing Chicago. Once outside, old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless with the revelation of shocking new truths.
