The Pitch (June 3 – 9)

The Pitch (June 3 – 9)

The X-Men are here… for only one-week, I promise.

The programming challenges of a single-screen are at its height with the Spring/Summer season, but we are doing our best to keep the mutants at bay, Shambhala notwithstanding. X-Men: Apocalypse (14A) opens on June 3rd for a 7-day run.

Oscar Isaac, known most recently as Poe Dameron in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but also from notable indi films, Ex Machina, A Most Violent Year and the Cohen brother’s Inside Llewyn Davis is here worshiped as a god since the dawn of civilization. The immortal Apocalypse becomes the first and most powerful mutant. Awakening after thousands of years, he recruits the disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender) and other mutants to create a new world order. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Professor X (James McAvoy) and Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) lead a team of young X-Men to stop their seemingly invincible nemesis from destroying mankind.

In an effort to keep you up informed of what we are hoping to bring to your single-screen so you can plan to See it at The Civic, here is our tentative schedule for the following two weeks:
