The Civic Theatre is Hiring (student summer job)

The Civic Theatre is hiring! Reporting to the Executive Director and working with other staff and volunteers, the Special Programming Assistant will provide support for the planning of a small number of community events scheduled to take place in September 2016 in Nelson, BC.

Duties include:

  • Supporting event planning.
  • Finalizing event details with vendors.
  • Coordinating with catering and technology services.
  • Managing invitations and responses.
  • Composing and coordinating content for our website and social media event pages with our web and social media volunteers.
  • Supporting the scheduling of volunteers for the events.
  • Supporting Civic Theatre staff with other administrative tasks.

The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:

  • Be planning to return to school full time in the fall.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Excellent time management skill, with attention to details.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Must be organized, and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • WordPress experience is an asset.
  • Google drive experience is an asset.
  • CRM database experience is an asset.
  • Previous experience in event planning is an asset.

As this is a summer job opportunity, the Special Programming Assistant is not required to be available to provide on-site support for the event, but is welcome to add this to their role, schedule permitting.
