The Pitch (June 24 – 30)

I can’t find a connection to the insane diversity this week… see for yourself.

If you are either a teen, mutant, ninja, or turtle, or any combination of the above, you are are being paged by The Civic to come on down this weekend ~ (Do teens even know what a pager is?) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (PG), finds the four brothers facing off against Shredder allied with a mad scientist who has created some mutants of his own.

If that isn’t scary enough than join Lorraine and Ed Warren in London for another based on a true account paranormal story of possession. In 1977, paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren travel to London, England, where single mother Peggy Hodgson believes that something evil is in her home. When Peggy’s youngest daughter starts showing signs of demonic possession, Ed and Lorraine attempt to help the besieged girl, only to find themselves targeted by the malicious spirits. Conjuring 2 (14A) plays as the late film to the Turtles.

On Thursday, (Rose Byrne) a daughter has a Meddler (PG) in her life in the form of her mother, played by the lovely Susan Sarandon, who following the passing of her husband moves from New Jersy to Las Angeles to be with her daughter.

Coming next, Aliens return after 20 years to occupy the Earth on Independence Day, and Canada Day for that matter in Resurgence.  It is playing in its second week of release to keep the commitment to a week, so as always if you can stand the wait, please See It At The Civic.
