What’s on at the Civic (Jan. 23 – Jan. 30)
Today’s episode of Sesame Street is brought to you by the letters ‘G’ and ‘R’.
The Civic runs the alphabet this week from the ‘G’ rated family friendly The Secret Life of Walter Mitty to the ‘R’ rated, and I mean a real ‘R’ no ’18A’ on this controversial French film, Blue is the Warmest Color.
For the weekend slot and cheap Tuesday, Walter Mitty, a day-dreamer escapes his anonymous life by disappearing into a world of fantasies filled with heroism, romance and action. When his job along with that of his co-worker are threatened, he takes action in the real world embarking on a global journey that turns into an adventure more extraordinary than anything he could have ever imagined.
On Thursday, Jan. 30, the much lauded and controversial winner of the Palme d’Or at Cannes hits the Civic screen. Blue is the Warmest Color, is being called the first great love story of the 21st century.
