Film Events in Nelson
As fellow movie enthusiasts, we are very pleased to help promote the following great film events here in Nelson. We look forward to collaborating in future film events here in the theatre, and across all the screens, big and small, around our community.
“If there was ever a film that needed to be on the big screen, this is it!”
– David Courier, Sundance senior programmer
This Wedneday, January 23rd, The EcoSociety and FLIKS (Film Lovers in the Kootenays) are bringing in the great new eco-adventure film CHASING ICE to the Capitol Theatre in Nelson. The cost is $20 as a benefit, tickets are available at the Capitol Theatre box office, or online.
On Febuary 2nd at The Capitol Theatre don’t miss a screening of the locally made film, The Change Agents at 7pm and 9pm.
Don’t forget the Amnesty International film festival also Feb 2, and 3rd. Admission is $5 per double bill. Tickets available in advance at Otter Books with a limited number for purchase at the door.
And finally, our friends at The Capitol Theatre are hosting a Mamma Mia sing-along, on Feb. 23rd. Pull out your brightest costumes!
All of this of course just shows the level of support for films here in Nelson, and we can’t wait to join the fold and bring you even more Big Screen enjoyment.
Find out how our project is going at our Open House, January 27th, 3PM-6PM. Drop in for a look around, have a tour of the proposed changes, and learn about our upcoming movie on February 23rd! What a month of movie pleasure.
