November at the Civic

The odds are definitely in our favour for having something right for you this November at the Civic.

The Civic Theatre has confirmed the whole month, the guess work is gone and the product is golden.

We start the Nov. 7th week off with the much buzzed about Fury (14A).  The Allies make their final push in the European Theatre, a battle-hardened army sergeant named Wardaddy (Brad Pitt) commands a Sherman tank and his five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines.  On the split we have The Skeleton Twins (PG),  a beautiful mix of heartbreak and humour starring Kristen Wigg and Bill Hader.

On Monday, Nov. 10th the Civic converts into the famous Globe Theatre for a live on screen presentation of Shakespeare’s The Tempest.

For our Nov. 13th Thursday film, we have secured the much anticipated and ridiculously well received Love is Strange (PG).  After nearly four decades together, Ben (John Lithgow) and George (Alfred Molina) finally tie the knot in an idyllic wedding ceremony in lower Manhattan. But when George loses his job soon after, the couple must sell their apartment and – victims of the relentless New York City real estate market – temporarily live apart until they can find an affordable new home.

Screening in Nelson on the beginning of its second week of it’s North American opening, Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar (PG) takes off Nov. 14th.  There is definitely no need to leave town when you can go to the stars in the comfort of your local cinema.

Nov. 21st? I need only to say this one phrase… The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Pt. 1. (PG)  on the break!!!

And for the finale of the month, the 20-year wait for the sequel of the brand of humour only Jim Carey and Jeff Daniels can deliver comes to Nelson on Nov. 28th.  Dumb and Dumber To (PG) opens here on the beginning of its 3rd week, but as the booking is confirmed and you know it is coming, it would be dumb to go anywhere else other than your own community cinema.

Cheers,

Jason.
