Home for the Holidays on December 14 at The Civic Theatre
The Civic Theatre is delighted to announce Home for the Holidays, our inaugural Winter Celebration of Family and Friends on December 14 at 1:00pm. We invite everyone to this FREE and family-friendly open house-style afternoon of films and festivities, when we will also acknowledge and applaud our tireless and dedicated volunteers.
A FAMILY AFTERNOON AT THE CINEMA
The lineup includes the beautiful film adaptation of Raymond Briggs’ The Snowman (1982 Academy Award Nominee for Best Animated Short Film), followed by a short program of presentations, games, prizes, and a visit by Santa Claus. The afternoon closes with the screening of Jimmy Stewart’s timeless holiday classic, It’s a Wonderful Life, on restored DCP.
FOOD DONATIONS FOR POPCORN
Home for the Holidays is a free event for everyone, and we will allow guests to come and go throughout the afternoon (provided that there is room!). We are collecting food donations for the Nelson Food Cupboard – in fact, we will exchange food items for mini popcorn!
GIFT IDEAS
Gift memberships and gift certificates will be available for purchase in our lobby throughout the event. Gift certificates can be purchased in any amount and used toward membership, admission, or concession purchases.
WITH THANKS TO OUR SPONSORS
The Civic Theatre is grateful to Event Sponsor Vince DeVito Shoes and Orthotics, and Prize Sponsor Play It Again Kids for their generous support of this event.
