Wes Anderson lends a little old Europe class before Ruth Moody takes the stage and  Spidey electrifies the screen over the next bi-weekly session at the Civic.

The wait has been long and down right unbearable for the latest masterpiece of auteur Wes Anderson to arrive, which is why it tickles me so to announce that we are now officially taking reservations for rooms at The Grand Budapest Hotel this Fri, Sat, Sun and Tues.  Check-In is at 7:30 with an early check-in on Sunday at 2:00.

There was a call for more mountain films with more women principles and the organizers of the Self-Design High presented Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival heard you.  On Monday, April 8, A second instalment with more great mountain shorts from the Best of the Fest program lights up the Civic screen.

The next Gas Light you ask? Civic is priming to be a Mecca of folk and we couldn’t be more excited to follow up the great Old Man Luedecke concert last month with Ruth Moody, founding member from the internationally renowned Wailin’ Jennys.  Don’t miss the show on Wednesday April 30.

Who doesn’t love a good Doppelgänger story, especially if it is adapted from The Double, penned by the visionary noble prize winner José de Sousa and directed by Canadian Denis Villeneuve?  A man seeks out his exact look-alike after spotting him in a movie.  The Enemy screens as the Thursday art film on May. 1.

Oh, and did I mention that we also reserved a room for Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man? He was due for an on-the-break May 2nd check-in, but a room opened up early and we will now be hosting evening tea and sneak preview of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 at 9:30 on Thursday May. 1.
