Exercises in power

This week at the Civic, political power places the lives of defense attorneys, Martin Rose (Eric Bana) and Claudia Simmons-Howe (Rebecca Hall), in jeopardy if they dig too deep into a high profile terrorism case in Closed Circuit (rated PG).

On Friday to Sunday and Cheap Tuesday, The Butler (rated PG), Cecil Gaines witnesses events from American history unfold from the seat of American power over his tenure at the White House serving eight presidents. Riddick (rated 18A) (Vin Diesel), exercises his brute power in dealing with a hostile race of alien predators, a new breed of mercenary and someone from his past.

And at 1pm, Sept 22, NCTS members can come exercise their power to vote at the Nelson Civic Theatre’s first AGM meeting. Free surprise movie and refreshments on hand.
